To: CTAP Regional Contacts
From: Bonnie Marks, Director
Subject: April 5th BARC Meeting

We look forward to seeing you at the April 5th BARC meeting. We’ll follow up on previous discussions of building support for the use of technology in education with a presentation on a recent ISTE project. Jane Krauss, of ISTE’s Eugene office, will showcase the new Advocacy Toolkit: Making the Case for Educational Technology, that is available at the ISTE website. The Toolkit offers guided templates and starter kits, which focus on a range of audiences, from teachers and building administrators to policy makers. Jane will share strategies and resources that will be demonstrated at a leadership symposium scheduled at the National Education Computing Conference in Philadelphia this June.

As our CTAP spotlight, Adrienne DeWolfe will highlight a project focused on the work being done by Shauna Hawes’s fifth grade classroom at Hidden Valley Elementary in the Mt. Diablo School District. Shauna participated in CTAP’s 2004 Summer Literacy Academy.

We'll be videoconferencing this meeting to a second site – the San Mateo County Office of Education.
