Using Brain Pop - Using Proportions

Steps for using the resource

Step 1  Using Brain Pop's movie on Using Proportions would be a wonderful visual reinforcement after modeling the example problem. The movie can be paused to facilitate questions and reinforce the steps.

Step 2  Students should have their math journals so they can participate in the quiz after the movie.

Step 3   Students work in small groups to solve practice problems in the textbook, using  the strategies that were demonstated in the movie.

Discussion Questions, Journal Prompts, and/or Extension Activity

Journal Prompts: How do you solve each cross product when you solve a proportion?

Extension Activities:   Replay the quiz and have students work in pairs to test each other.
